Lincoln Nautilus Earns Title Of 2025 SUV Of The Year From MotorTrend For Luxury And Performance
The Lincoln Nautilus has been named the 2025 SUV of the Year by MotorTrend Group, a Warner Bros. Discovery company. This premium SUV was chosen for its stylish and sporty design, advanced driver assist features, comfortable interior, and user-friendly digital experience. The Nautilus impressed judges with its unique qualities, securing its position as a top contender in the midsize luxury two-row crossover SUV category.
MotorTrend's "Of The Year" awards are highly respected in the automotive industry. They evaluate vehicles based on six criteria: safety, efficiency, value, design advancement, engineering excellence, and performance. The Lincoln Nautilus excelled in these areas, surpassing competitors like the Rivian R1S and Toyota Land Cruiser.

The Lincoln Nautilus is now in its second generation. It fits between Lincoln’s larger Aviator and smaller Corsair models. The standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It produces 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
The hybrid model uses an eCVT with an electric motor providing 168 hp. This setup results in a combined output of 310 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Lincoln aimed to create a vehicle that feels like an oasis on wheels, focusing on design elegance and passenger comfort.
MotorTrend editors praised the luxury feel of the Nautilus. They were particularly impressed by the interior design quality and attention to detail, from seat quality to the expansive 48-inch panoramic display.
User Experience and Safety Features
The vehicle prioritizes user experience and comfort with adjustable thigh cushions in the driver's seat for long drives. It also offers massaging and cooling features. The infotainment screen is customizable and positioned for easy use.
The Nautilus received a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS. Dianne Craig from Lincoln said, "The all-new Nautilus has been an absolute game changer for the Lincoln brand." She highlighted how it enhances cabin experiences with new connected features.
Sales Growth and Market Impact
Launched earlier this year, the new Nautilus has boosted Lincoln's sales by 39% compared to last year through Q3. This contributed to a 25% overall sales increase for the brand year-to-date as they refresh their SUV lineup.
MotorTrend's awards are prestigious in the automotive world. They have evaluated vehicles since 1949 for Car of the Year honors. Truck of the Year was added in 1978, SUV of the Year in 1999, and Performance Vehicle of the Year in 2022.
