Lexus GX 2025: Unveiling Enhanced Off-Road Features And Luxury Interior Options
The 2025 Lexus GX introduces several new standard features, including a one-inch suspension lift for Overtrail and Overtrail+ models. The starting MSRP is $65,285, which includes delivery and handling fees. Redesigned to encourage exploration and adventure, the GX combines advanced technology with a luxurious interior. It maintains its renowned off-road capabilities, offering six grades: Premium, Premium+, Luxury, Luxury+, Overtrail, and Overtrail+.
The GA-F platform used in the 2025 GX enhances body rigidity and on-road handling. This platform is shared with the current-generation LX and is designed to withstand off-road forces while maintaining cabin stability. The double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension provide excellent off-road performance and on-road comfort. An Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) adjusts damping based on road conditions.
The GX is powered by a 3.4L twin-turbo V6 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine delivers 349 horsepower, surpassing the previous V8's 301 horsepower. Torque reaches 479 lb.-ft., ensuring smooth acceleration in various driving conditions. The towing capacity is up to 9,063 lbs for most grades and slightly higher for the Overtrail grade.
Off-road enthusiasts will appreciate the GX's full-time 4WD system, which provides consistent performance across different terrains. A one-inch suspension lift is now standard on Overtrail models, increasing ground clearance to 9.84 inches. The Torsen limited-slip locking center differential evenly distributes power to enhance control in low-grip situations.
The exterior of the GX showcases a robust design that reflects its off-road capabilities. The square-body profile features a horizontal motif with a bold spindle body concept at the front. Standard Triple-Beam LED headlamps are strategically placed to avoid road impacts, while LED fog lamps improve visibility. Various colour options are available depending on the grade.
The interior of the GX balances ruggedness with luxury, providing a comfortable space for long journeys. The driver-focused cockpit offers excellent visibility through a low instrument panel design. A standard 14-inch touchscreen display integrates Lexus Interface technology for easy access to controls.
Interior Features and Technology
The GX accommodates up to seven passengers with ergonomic seating designed for comfort during long drives. Heated and ventilated seats are standard for front occupants, with optional heated second-row seats available. The third row can be configured manually or electrically.
Technological advancements include wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, allowing users to connect their devices seamlessly. Six charging ports are distributed throughout the cabin, along with an optional wireless charger in the front console tray.
Safety Systems and Driver Assistance
Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 comes standard on all GX models, featuring active safety equipment like Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist. Full-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control helps maintain preset speeds on highways.
The Intelligent Assistant feature allows voice commands for navigation and climate control via dual microphones with enhanced noise cancellation. A Digital Key option lets users control door locks using their smartphone through the Lexus app.
Convenience Features
A Head-Up Display projects essential information onto the windshield within the driver's line of sight, enhancing safety by reducing distractions. Mark Levinson® Surround Sound system offers high-quality audio throughout the cabin.
The Traffic Jam Assist feature monitors traffic in slow-moving conditions on highways, automatically adjusting speed as needed while providing hands-free steering assistance when required.
