Leapmotor To Introduce Budget-Friendly Electric Vehicles In India Through Stellantis Partnership

A new player in the electric vehicle (EV) market is set to make its way to India. Leapmotor, a Chinese EV manufacturer, in collaboration with Stellantis Group, is reportedly on the brink of unveiling their investment plans for the Indian market in the upcoming weeks.

This partnership aims to introduce budget-friendly EVs targeting the mass market. Leapmotor will join Jeep and Citroen as the third brand under Stellantis' banner in India.

In a strategic move to harness Leapmotor's advanced EV technology, Stellantis acquired a 20% stake in the company in late 2023, with an investment of €1.5 billion. This investment underscores Stellantis' ambition to tap into Leapmotor's technology-driven EV ecosystem in China and broaden its global footprint.
