Lamborghini Urus SE Unveiled At Auto China Beijing 2024 With Hybrid Power
The Auto China Beijing 2024 motor show was the stage for the world public premiere of the Lamborghini Urus SE, marking a significant milestone as the brand's first Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) luxury super SUV. This latest iteration of the Urus sets a new standard in the luxury automotive sector with its combination of a redesigned exterior, enhanced aerodynamics, cutting-edge onboard technologies, and a potent hybrid powertrain boasting an 800 CV output. This launch aligns with Lamborghini's "Direzione Cor Tauri" strategy, emphasizing the company's shift towards electrification.
The Urus SE is powered by a re-engineered twin-turbo 4.0 V8 engine paired with an electric powertrain, culminating in a total power output of 800 CV. A notable feature is its centrally-located longitudinal electric torque vectoring system, which significantly improves the driving experience. The hybrid setup not only delivers top-of-the-segment torque and power but also achieves an 80% reduction in emissions compared to traditional engines. The Urus SE can cover over 60km on electric power alone, thanks to its EV Drive mode.
Design-wise, the Urus SE introduces several new elements including matrix LED headlights, an updated front grille and bumper, a floating hood, and a rear design inspired by the Gallardo. The interior adopts the "Feel Like a Pilot" concept, featuring a 12.3-inch central touchscreen with an upgraded Human Machine Interface (HMI). Lamborghini also offers extensive customization options for the Urus SE through its Ad Personam program.
In addition to the Urus SE, Lamborghini showcased two other notable models at the Auto China Beijing 2024 motor show. The Revuelto, Lamborghini's first super sports V12 hybrid plug-in HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle), boasts a V12 engine complemented by three electric motors to deliver an astonishing 1,015 CV. This powerhouse can exceed speeds of 350 km/h and sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. Its design features include a carbon fiber hood and shark-nose styling, along with a unique "Y" inspired interior.
The exhibit also featured the Huracán Tecnica, a rear-wheel drive super sports car powered by a V10 engine. It represents the pinnacle of design and engineering excellence within Lamborghini's lineup and sports a unique livery from the Ad Personam program.
The introduction of the Lamborghini Urus SE alongside the Revuelto and Huracán Tecnica underscores Lamborghini's dedication to advancing performance, technology, and design within the automotive industry. These models not only highlight Lamborghini's innovative approach to vehicle manufacturing but also its commitment to sustainability through electrification.
