Lamborghini Launches Temerario: The Pinnacle Of Hybrid Super Sports Innovation

Automobili Lamborghini has introduced the Temerario, a twin-turbo V8 hybrid super sports car, at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during Monterey Car Week in California. This new model succeeds the Huracán and boasts a power output of 920 CV. It can reach speeds over 210 mph (340 km/h) and accelerates from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 2.7 seconds.

The Temerario is Lamborghini's second High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) and completes the hybridization of their lineup following the Revuelto and Urus SE. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, stated, "Every new Lamborghini must surpass its forerunners in performance terms." The Temerario aims to set a new standard in performance, sportiness, and driving pleasure.

At the annual automotive event, Lamborghini also showcased its full hybrid product line. The flagship Revuelto features a 6.5-liter V12 mid-engine with 1,015 CV and a top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h). The Urus SE, a super SUV, comes with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine delivering 800 CV and reaching a top speed of 194 mph (312 km/h).

The Huracán, which debuted in 2014, has been Lamborghini’s best-selling super sports car. The Temerario replaces it as part of Lamborghini’s Direzione Cor Tauri plan to hybridize their entire product line while developing a fully electric model expected by the end of the decade.

Alongside its physical unveiling, the Temerario made its virtual debut in the Lamborghini Lab on Roblox. This platform allows users to customize their own Temerario using options from Lamborghini’s Ad Personam studio. Users can then experience driving their customized supercar on virtual tracks against friends and challengers worldwide.

The Temerario is unique as it is the first production super sports car engine capable of reaching 10,000 rpm—a feat typically reserved for motorsports. Winkelmann added, "With the Temerario, we’ve exceeded our expectations with what the mid-engine sports car can be in terms of performance and design."

The vehicle is not yet available for sale and thus not subject to Directive 1999/94 EC regulations. Fuel consumption and emissions data are still pending approval stages.

Fuel consumption values for all Huracán models range between 14.9-13.9 l/100km (WLTP), with CO₂ emissions between 338-328 g/km (WLTP). For the Revuelto: combined fuel consumption is 11.86 l/100km; combined power consumption is 10.1 kWh/100 Km; combined CO₂ emissions are 276 g/km; efficiency class G; with discharged battery: fuel consumption is 17.8 l/100km; CO₂ emissions efficiency class G.

For Urus SE: combined fuel consumption is 2.08 l/100km; power consumption is 39.5 kWh/100 Km; CO₂ emissions are 51.25 g/km; efficiency class B; with discharged battery: fuel consumption is 12.9 l/100km; CO₂ emissions efficiency class G.
