Lamborghini Pauses FIA World Endurance Championship Programme For Strategic Realignment
Automobili Lamborghini has decided to halt its participation in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at the end of this season. This decision affects both the Hypercar and LMGT3 categories. Lamborghini made its debut in the FIA WEC earlier this year, marking a significant milestone with its SC63 LMDh prototype. The team achieved a top 10 finish at Le Mans 24 Hours, entered the Hyperpole session at Fuji, and secured a podium spot in LMGT3 at Spa-Francorchamps.
The recent changes in FIA WEC regulations now require brands to field two cars in the Hypercar class starting from 2025. This new rule does not align with Lamborghini's current strategy. Consequently, Lamborghini has chosen to withdraw from the 2025 FIA WEC season. Despite this pause, Lamborghini remains dedicated to developing the SC63 by continuing its participation in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the United States.
