Lamborghini Sets New Records In Deliveries And Financial Performance In Q1 2024
Automobili Lamborghini, the esteemed Sant'Agata Bolognese company, has reported a stellar start to 2024 following a record-breaking 2023. The first quarter of the year saw the company achieving its highest-ever quarterly deliveries, with a total of 2,630 cars delivered to customers. This performance underscores the brand's robust financial health and strategic prowess, with a turnover of €691 million and an operating profit of €187 million, resulting in a profitability rate of 27.0%.
Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, expressed optimism about the company's direction and its alignment with the positive forecasts for 2024. Winkelmann highlighted the significance of the recent launch of the Urus SE and the anticipation surrounding the hybrid successor to the Huracán, set for unveiling in the latter half of the year. These milestones are pivotal in Lamborghini's ongoing growth trajectory and its commitment to product innovation.
The United States continues to be Lamborghini's largest market, despite a slight decrease in deliveries during the first quarter. However, the company's performance across different regions remains strong, with deliveries in EMEA (1,278 cars), Americas (856 cars), and APAC (496 cars) showcasing Lamborghini's global appeal.
Paolo Poma, Managing Director and CFO of Automobili Lamborghini, remarked on the stability shown in the first quarter's figures and the solid order book that positions the company well for meeting its 2024 targets. The sustained order intake not only reflects confidence in Lamborghini's future projects but also promises further growth throughout the year.
The resilience of Lamborghini's brand is evident in its strategic decisions for 2024, including efforts to rebalance deliveries across all quarters for a more uniform distribution throughout the year. The strong demand for models such as Revuelto and Huracán—both boasting extensive lead times—and full coverage of orders for the Urus S and Performante until their production ends, highlights Lamborghini's enduring appeal.
With the introduction of the Urus SE, Lamborghini's first hybrid super SUV, at the onset of Q2 2024, the company is poised for continued success. This launch not only marks a significant step towards achieving Lamborghini's ambitious goals but also reflects its commitment to innovation and sustainability within the luxury automotive sector.
