Kia Tasman Announced – Debut By Second Half Of 2024
Ready to make its global debut soon, Kia is set to enter the commercial pick-up market with the launch of the Kia Tasman. This upcoming model from Kia is expected to hit the Australian market first, followed by other international markets.
Though Kia is yet to reveal the secrets lurking under the body panels of the Tasman, we can confirm that the model uses a traditional ladder-frame chassis. However, the details regarding the powertrain are still scarce.

That being said, we expect the Kia Tasman to use the company's tried-and-tested 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that is on duty in models such as the Kia Carnival and the Hyundai Santa Fe.
However, unlike the 200bhp output in the above-listed models, we expect the 2.2-litre diesel engine in the Kia Tasman to be tuned for better low-end torque to suit the nature of its purpose. This means the peak power output is likely to be sacrificed by a small margin.
In terms of design, spy shots and spy videos confirm that the Kia Tasman is likely to get an angular design language. Furthermore, this upcoming model from Kia is expected to come with an impressive ground clearance.

When launched, the upcoming Kia Tasman will compete against the likes of the Toyota Hilux, Ford Raptor, Mitsubishi Triton, Isuzu D-Max, and other pick-up SUVs. It is also worth mentioning that the Kia Tasman is expected to make its global debut in the second half of 2024.
At present, Kia’s model lineup in India consists of Seltos, Sonet, Carens, and the EV6. Furthermore, Kia is planning to add 4 more models to this lineup, which includes models such as the new Kia Carnival, Picanto, Rio, and EV9.
Thoughts About The Kia Tasman
Kia Motor is yet to confirm the launch of the Kia Tasman pick-up in India. If launched, we expect the model to be an attractive proposition for many Indian customers. Also, we expect this model come loaded with tech as other Kia models as well.
