Kia Syros SUV: Expected Features & Powertrain Options
Kia India is gearing up to introduce the Syros SUV on December 19. Positioned above the Sonet, the Syros is likely to come with two engine options when it hits the market in January 2025. This launch marks Kia's fifth diesel-engine model in India, defying the trend of phasing out diesel vehicles.
Engine Options & Specifications
In terms of engine options, the Kia Syros will be offered with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and 1.5-litre diesel engine. The turbo petrol engine is likely to produce 120hp and 172Nm of torque, whereas the diesel unit will put out a healthy 115hp and 250Nm of torque.

In terms of transmission options, buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission with the turbo petrol engine. On the other hand, the diesel engine can specified with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Features
In terms of features the upcoming Kia Syros is expected to come loaded with tech like any other Kia model available in India. However, given the segment the Syros is competent, we expect the model to come with features such as electric sunroof, automatic climate control, large infotainment unit, and a digital instrument cluster.

Other likely features of the Kia Syros include cooled glove box, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, leatherette seats, ventilated seats, LED headlights, electrical boot release, connected car tech, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and much more.
Launch Timeline and Market Positioning
The global debut of the Syros is set for December 19. Sources suggest that pricing details might be unveiled in January at the Bharat Mobility Show, where it will be showcased to the public for the first time. Deliveries are expected to commence by late January or early February next year.
Kia's decision to introduce another diesel model reflects its strategy to cater to diverse consumer preferences in India. While many manufacturers are moving away from diesel engines, Kia continues to offer this option across multiple models in its lineup.
