Kia Reveals Name Of New Pickup - “Tasman”
South Korean carmaker Kia has just announced the official name of their highly anticipated pickup truck. The name Kia has chosen is Tasman, taking inspiration from the rugged beauty and spirit of the southernmost state of Australia, Tasmania.
The Tasman will be Kia's first step into the C-segment Pickup truck market internationally. Kia is expected to strategically debut the Tasman in markets like Korea, Australia, Africa and the Middle East by 2025.

The Tasman is Kia's first pickup truck in the C-segment. The name "Tasman" was chosen from a selection of names gathered from Kia's global markets, first suggested by Kia Australia. It was selected for its connection to Tasmania, renowned as the 'island of inspiration', and the Tasman Sea.
Tasmania's breathtaking scenery and wildlife have a unique sense of wonder and community. This name captures the spirit of adventure, reflecting the rugged prowess of Kia's upcoming pickup truck.

Kia released a video that showcases the connection of the Tasman to Tasmania. The video features a blacksmith who is drawing inspiration from Tasmania’s breathtaking landscape to create the Kia Tasman emblem.
In March of this year, Kia announced its entry into Australia’s Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) market with a TV commercial that had 20 of Australia’s top sporting figures discussing the name of the Kia pickup truck. Kia is now accepting Expressions of Interest through the Kia Australia website, allowing individuals to stay updated ahead of the vehicle's release.
