Kia To Debut PBV Concept Vehicles At IAA Transportation 2024, Hanover
Kia will make its debut at IAA Transportation 2024 in Hanover from 16-22 September. The event will feature the European premiere of Kia's PBV concept vehicles, marking the brand's entry into the light commercial vehicle (LCV) market.
PBVs, or 'Platform Beyond Vehicles,' represent Kia's innovative approach to LCVs. These fully electric and adaptable vehicles aim to revolutionise logistics and transportation. The production version is expected to launch in summer 2025.
Visitors can find Kia's stand in Hall 13, location C71, where several PBV concepts will be showcased. These include the PV5 High Roof concept, PV5 People Mover concept, PV5 3D concept, and PV7 concept. Each model is designed to meet various mobility needs with a single electric platform.
Marc Hedrich, President of Kia Europe, stated, "Our flexible and highly versatile PBVs are going to completely change logistics and transportation, with a truly customer-centric approach and a single electric platform that can be adapted for multiple mobility needs."
Kia will hold a press conference at 09:00 BST on 16 September at their stand to introduce the PBVs. This event will provide more insights into the features and capabilities of these new vehicles.
The PBVs are designed for both B2B and private customers. They offer total mobility solutions by combining fit-for-purpose EVs with advanced software solutions. Features include over-the-air updates, best-in-class dimensions, loading capacities, excellent manoeuvrability, and the lowest entry height in the market.
This marks a significant step for Kia as it ventures into the LCV market with its disruptive PBV models. The company's focus on customer-centric design aims to set new standards in logistics and transportation.
