Kia Speeds Up: Reaches 522 Touchpoints in 236 Cities Across India

Kia India, the South Korean carmaker, is stepping on the gas pedal when it comes to accessibility. The company recently announced a significant expansion of its sales and service network, reaching a milestone of 522 touchpoints in 236 Indian cities.

Kia's impressive network growth signifies a remarkable journey since its Indian debut. They've more than doubled their touchpoints, expanding from a starting point of 285. This achievement solidifies Kia's position as a brand with one of the largest networks among new entrants in the Indian automobile industry.

But the expansion isn't just about numbers. Kia India is adopting a strategic approach, focusing on strengthening its presence in both Tier 1 and Tier 2 markets. These cities, which contribute 40% to Kia's overall network strength, are witnessing a surge in demand for premium cars. By establishing a robust presence in these areas, Kia aims to capitalize on this growing market segment.

However, Kia isn't neglecting the potential of beyond-metro India. The company understands the importance of Tier 4 and upcountry markets, which currently account for a significant portion (46%) of their network. Kia is actively expanding its reach in these regions, ensuring that customers in smaller towns and rural areas also have convenient access to Kia products and services.

Commenting on the network expansion, Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head of Sales & Marketing at Kia India, highlighted the importance of accessibility in the car buying experience. He stated, "In India, purchasing a car is a major life decision. We want to make this process smooth and convenient for our customers by providing them with easy access to our showrooms and service centers."

Kia's ambitious plans don't stop here. The company, as part of its Kia 2.0 strategy, aims to reach a target of 700 touchpoints across 300 cities by the end of 2024. This aggressive expansion plan indicates Kia's commitment to becoming a household name in India, synonymous with quality, reliability, and readily available customer care.

Kia's focus on sustainability is another noteworthy aspect of their network expansion. The company is promoting the adoption of eco-friendly practices by encouraging its dealer partners to transition towards "green workshop" concepts. This commitment reflects Kia's well-rounded approach to growth, prioritizing not just customer satisfaction but also environmental responsibility.

Kia India's rapid network expansion is a positive sign for the Indian automobile industry. It signifies increased competition, leading to a wider range of choices and potentially better deals for car buyers. With a strong network presence and a commitment to customer satisfaction, Kia India is well-positioned to solidify its place as a major player in the ever-evolving Indian car market.
