Kia Clavis SUV – The Tata Punch & Hyundai Exter Rival
Kia is one of the most successful car manufacturers in India, and it consistently ranks among the 'Top 5 Car Manufacturers' list in the country. Now, in an attempt to further gain market share, Kia will soon be launching the all-new Clavis SUV.
This upcoming Kia Clavis SUV is expected to directly rival the likes of Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter SUVs. This is a very attractive segment considering most hatchback buyers gravitate towards this segment for the allure of owning an SUV without stretching the budget.

Given Kia's reputation of loading up their cars with tech and well-finished interiors, we expect the upcoming Kia Clavis SUV to shake up the segment and attract the attention of many hatchback buyers in India.
It is also worth mentioning that the Kia Clavis has been spotted testing a few times in India, and some of the interesting design details include vibrant and youthful design coupled with a large glasshouse, slab-sided doors, vertically arranged headlamps, DRLs, and taillamps.
The latter even gets a connecting lightbar, which makes the Clavis very contemporary and attractive. That being said, Clavis has a very upright stance, making it look bigger than its dimensions suggest.
Features-wise, we expect the upcoming Kia Clavis to sport feature ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera system, a panoramic sunroof, parking sensors at both ends, six airbags, four-wheel disc brakes, and ADAS tech in the upper variants.
Powertrain-wise, we expect the upcoming Kia Clavis SUV to sport the same powertrain options as the Kia Sonet SUV. This means, the model could be offered with two engine options - a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
DriveSpark Thinks
When launched, the Kia Clavis will be positioned below the Kia Sonet and will directly rival the likes of Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. Also, the model is likely to significantly boost the sales figures for the South Korean automaker in India.
