Upcoming Kia Clavis SUV Details – Aims To Create New Segment?
Sightings of the upcoming Kia Clavis test mules have increased in recent times. This indicates the potential launch of the model in the near future. As such, here are some important details to know about the upcoming Kia Clavis SUV.
For starters, Kia India is adamant that the Clavis will be positioned in a "different segment" and mostly above Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. Moreover, the company is being tight-lipped about whether the model will be positioned above or below the Kia Sonet.

Given Kia's reputation, we expect the upcoming Kia Clavis SUV to be loaded with top tech and well-finished interiors. Furthermore, spy shots of the Kia Clavis reveal the model to have a tall silhouette and in some angles, it does look like a shrunken Skoda Yeti.
Interesting details noted on the Kia Clavis test mules include vibrant and youthful design coupled with a large glasshouse, slab-sided doors, vertically arranged headlamps, DRLs, and taillamps. The model also seems to sport a connecting lightbar, which makes the Clavis very contemporary and attractive.

It is also worth mentioning that the tall and upright stance of the Clavis SUV will make the model look slightly bigger than its dimensions suggest. We also expect the Kia Clavis to have class-leading headroom on both rows of seating.
Features-wise, we expect the upcoming Kia Clavis to sport ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera system, a panoramic sunroof, parking sensors at both ends, six airbags, four-wheel disc brakes, and ADAS tech in the upper variants.

Powertrain-wise, we expect the upcoming Kia Clavis SUV to sport the same powertrain options as the Kia Sonet SUV. This means, the model could be offered with two engine options - a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, and a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
DriveSpark Thinks
When launched, the Kia Clavis is likely to significantly boost the sales figures for the South Korean automaker in India as most hatchback buyers usually gravitate towards the allure of owning an "SUV" without stretching the budget.
