Kia America Reports Best-Ever October Sales Driven By Strong Demand For Electrified And SUV Models
Kia America has set a new record for October sales, achieving its highest-ever figures with 68,908 units sold. This milestone was driven by significant growth in both electrified vehicles and SUVs. Sales of Kia's electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid models rose by 70%, 65%, and 49% respectively compared to the previous year. These increases contributed to the brand's best-ever sales for electrified models in October.
Additionally, Kia's SUV sales reached unprecedented levels, making up 73% of total sales. This highlights the ongoing popularity of their SUV lineup. Notably, three models—Sportage, Carnival, and EV6—set new October sales records. Other models like Sorento, Telluride, K5, and Soul also saw significant gains compared to last year.
Eric Watson, vice president of sales operations at Kia America, stated: "A number of Kia’s electrified models and SUVs realized double-digit sales increases, propelling Kia to our best October sales performance in company history." He added that Kia continues to attract a wide range of consumers with its diverse offerings across different powertrains.
The introduction of the all-new K4 compact sedan and the first-ever Carnival Hybrid MPV is already drawing considerable interest in showrooms nationwide. This suggests that Kia's positive growth trend is likely to continue as these new models gain traction among consumers.
Beyond sales achievements, Kia America has announced several community support initiatives. In response to Hurricanes Helene and Milton in the Southeastern U.S., they have pledged $400,000 for recovery efforts. Additionally, a customer assistance program offers $500 support for vehicle replacement to affected customers in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
Kia's "Accelerate the Good" Dealer Match program raised over $4.5 million for non-profits nationwide in 2023. This initiative supports various causes such as childhood cancer treatment, ending childhood hunger, providing shelter for homeless youth, disaster relief efforts, military family support, animal sheltering projects, and environmental cleanups.
Motorsport Endeavours
The modified Kia Telluride X-Pro participated in the 2024 Rebelle Rally for the third consecutive year. The vehicle has consistently secured podium finishes in the X-Cross class. Professional rally driver Verena Mei teamed up with navigator Kendra Miller once again this year to form a strong team aiming for success.
