Mission Foods’ Juan Gonzalez To Lead As Grand Marshal At Firestone Grand Prix
MONTEREY, Calif., June 12, 2024—WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is set to host the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey from June 21-23. This year, Mission Foods’ Chief Executive Officer Juan Gonzalez will serve as the Grand Marshal. Mr. Gonzalez will initiate the NTT INDYCAR SERIES racing action as the fastest cars in America take on the iconic track, racing under the new Mission Foods Start/Finish bridge.

As Grand Marshal, Mr. Gonzalez will greet drivers and make the "Drivers, start your engines!" call to commence the racing action on Sunday. A lifelong automotive and motorsports enthusiast, he began racing go-karts at six years old, later moving on to motorcycles and vintage racing series such as HSR, SVRA, and IGT for over 30 years.
In 2010, Mr. Gonzalez won in IMSA's GTC Class at the 12 Hours of Sebring and Long Beach and reached the podium at Laguna Seca and Miller Park. As a passionate car collector for over 40 years, he has built the Car Amigo Collection, focusing primarily on racing cars and motorcycles.
Juan Gonzalez Moreno is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of GRUMA (Mission Foods), a leading manufacturer of tortillas and flatbreads globally. The company operates in Mexico, the United States, Central America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Grupo Financiero Banorte, one of Mexico’s largest financial institutions.
Additionally, Mr. Gonzalez is a Board Member of the internationally acclaimed Petersen Museum in Los Angeles.
