José Miguel Aparicio To Lead Audi UK In Strategic Move Forward

José Miguel Aparicio will assume the role of Director of Audi UK starting 1 October 2024. He will replace Andrew Doyle, who is set to leave the brand in September. Aparicio transitions from Volkswagen Group Spain, where he has been the Audi Brand Director for six years.

Aparicio's extensive experience spans over 26 years in the automotive industry. He began his career with Ford Motor Company in Spain, holding various sales and aftersales positions. His academic background includes mechanical engineering studies in Paris and Madrid.

Aparicio Takes Helm at Audi UK

Alex Smith, Managing Director of Volkswagen Group UK, expressed enthusiasm about Aparicio's appointment. "José Miguel joins the team at an extremely exciting time for the Audi brand as it prepares to embed key new products such as the Q6 e-tron and embraces new technology and customer-centric innovations," Smith stated.

Smith also acknowledged Doyle's contributions over the past seven years, noting that he leaves Audi in a strong position, ranking third in UK sales charts. "I know José Miguel is looking forward to building on this success," Smith added.

In 2023, Audi maintained its status as the leading premium car brand in the UK, delivering 137,489 new vehicles to customers. The brand saw an 85 per cent increase in deliveries of battery electric vehicles (BEVs), totalling 24,773 units and representing 18 per cent of total sales.

Audi is accelerating its transformation with a significant model initiative starting in 2024. The brand aims to become a leading provider of sustainable mobility and plans to have a BEV in every core segment by 2027.

Aparicio's Career Highlights

Before joining Audi UK, Aparicio served as Director of Škoda and Sales Director for SEAT in Spain. His diverse roles within Volkswagen Group Spain have equipped him with valuable insights into brand management and sales strategies.

Aparicio's educational journey took him through prestigious institutions in Paris and Madrid, where he studied mechanical engineering at a high level. This technical foundation has supported his successful career trajectory in the automotive sector.

The transition marks a significant step for both Aparicio and Audi UK as they navigate an evolving market landscape focused on innovation and sustainability.
