Jon Coles Appointed As New General Manager For Suzuki Dealer Development

Suzuki GB PLC has recently announced a significant change within its leadership structure, welcoming Jon Coles as the new General Manager of its Dealer Development team. This strategic move comes after the retirement of Mark Hallam in March, marking a new chapter for the company's dealership operations across its diverse divisions, including Automobile, Motorcycle, Marine, and All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV).

With a rich history at Suzuki GB that dates back to 2007, Jon Coles steps into his new role with an impressive 25 years of brand experience. His journey with Suzuki began in 1999 within its dealer network, where he excelled in various capacities such as Technician and Service Manager. Over the years, Coles has climbed the ranks within the company, having served as a technical coordinator in the Aftersales Division before advancing to Regional Sales Manager and then Technical Manager. Prior to his current appointment, he was the General Manager of Aftersales Services, where he played a pivotal role in launching the Service Activated Warranty for car and motorcycle owners.

He emphasized his commitment to maintaining Suzuki's status as the most trusted brand while preparing the dealer network for the upcoming transition to an Electric Vehicle (EV) range slated between 2025 and 2030.

The scope of Jon Coles' responsibilities is extensive. He will oversee all aspects of network development, including the onboarding of new dealers, sales training, conducting regular 'mystery shop' exercises to gauge customer experience, and ensuring adherence to Corporate Identity standards. Leading a team of eight, Coles is set to play a crucial role in Suzuki's strategic direction and operational excellence across its four dealer divisions.

Suzuki GB PLC and Suzuki Republic of Ireland boast an extensive network comprising 179 new car dealers and authorised repairers, 79 on and off-road motorcycle dealers, 113 marine dealers (including boat builders), and 55 ATV dealers.
