Jett Lawrence Successfully Defends His SuperMotocross World Championship Title At Las Vegas

Jett Lawrence, riding for Team Honda HRC Progressive, clinched the SuperMotocross World Championship at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Competing on his 2025 CRF450RWE, he achieved a 1-1 moto tally, securing first place in the SMX Final. This victory marks his second consecutive championship win, having also topped two of the three rounds last year.

Hunter Lawrence, Jett's older brother and teammate, finished second in both the Las Vegas round and overall series standings. Despite tying on points with Jett, Hunter was placed second due to winning one round compared to Jett's two. The Lawrence brothers had a profitable day; Jett earned $1 million for his victory while Hunter received $500,000 for his runner-up position.

Jett Lawrence Wins SuperMotocross Championship Again

Since the inception of the SMX Playoffs last year, Honda has been dominant, winning all six overall titles. Alongside Jett's individual success, Honda secured the 2024 SMX Manufacturer's Championship. Brandon Wilson from American Honda praised Jett's achievements and highlighted the unique format of the SuperMotocross World Championship as beneficial for their riders and bikes.

Jett Lawrence has been part of Honda's factory team since 2021 after turning professional with Factory Connection in 2020. In just four years, he has amassed eight professional titles, including this year's 450 AMA Supercross title. An injury hindered his defense of the 2023 AMA Pro Motocross Championship but he returned strong for the SMX series.

The regular season may have concluded, but Jett will remain active during the off-season. Both he and Hunter are set to represent Team Australia at the Motocross of Nations on October 6 at Matterley Basin in England. They will also compete in the Paris Supercross scheduled for November 16-17.

"It means a lot to the team and my family," expressed Jett Lawrence from Landsborough, Queensland. "It makes it extra special with Hunter getting second—I always want to see him do good." He added that despite an injury during the outdoor season being less than ideal, it provided a necessary break.

The success of Honda's new bike was evident as Jett remarked on its performance: "It's great to get the '25 bike its first championship; I think this just shows how much input we had in developing the bike and how good it is to race."

The achievements of both Jett and Hunter Lawrence highlight their exceptional talent and dedication within motocross racing. Their continued participation in upcoming events promises further excitement for fans worldwide.
