Jeep India Opens Bookings For Updated Meridian SUV: Comes With More Features
Jeep India has initiated bookings for the updated Meridian, which now offers both 5-seat and 7-seat configurations. With a booking amount set at Rs 50,000, the facelifted version promises not just aesthetic updates but also enhanced features over its predecessor.
Among these updates, the inclusion of an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite marks a significant enhancement. Enthusiasts can expect the same dependable 2.0-litre diesel engine under the hood, maintaining its performance standards.

The interior of the Meridian facelift will welcome passengers with new trims and upholstery, contributing to a refreshed cabin experience. The dashboard boasts a three-layer design with a grey finish, making a departure from the previous beige. Similarly, a copper finish strip now replaces the chrome accent, adding a touch of modernity.
Despite these changes, popular features like the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, the 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, and the 9-speaker Alpine audio system will continue to grace the Meridian’s cabin, along with other high-end amenities such as wireless charging and front ventilated seats.
The Meridian's facelift is not only about interior refinement. The exterior has received subtle yet impactful updates, as indicated by teasers on Jeep India's website. A slightly revamped grille now features chrome studs set into its honeycomb mesh, a departure from the previous design. Expectations also lean towards new designs for the 18-inch alloy wheels and several other minor exterior adjustments, in line with prior spy shots.
With these additions, the SUV aims to offer a more connected and secure driving experience. Jeep India has also confirmed that the refreshed Meridian will provide a 9-speed automatic transmission option alongside its 4x2 and 4x4 variants. Although there's anticipation for a petrol engine variant, mirroring the developments with the Compass, such an option might not be available immediately at launch.
All the updated features and tweaks aim to reinforce the Meridian's position in the competitive SUV market. With prices for the outgoing model ranging up to Rs 39.83 lakh, it will be interesting to see how the facelifted version is priced. Regardless, the Meridian facelift represents a significant update for Jeep in India, promising to deliver both on aesthetics and functionality.
