Jeep Compass Witnesses Major Price Cut – Prices Now Start At Rs 18.99 Lakh
In a recent move, Jeep India has reduced the price of their Compass model. Jeep is not usually known for cutting prices, but this step is pivotal. However, the reduction is selective and does not apply to all variants. The Jeep Compass now starts at Rs 18.99 lakh (Ex-showroom).
The earlier starting price was Rs 20.69 lakh (Ex-showroom). This reduction is a significant Rs 1.7 lakh. Despite the change, the price cut is only for the base model and not for other variants.
Base Model Features
The Jeep Compass base Sport model boasts an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 17-inch alloy wheels, and LED headlights. The Jeep Compass range starts with the Sport trim, followed by Longitude, Night Eagle, Limited, Black Shark, and Model S trims.
Engine and Specifications
The Compass runs on a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine, offering 167bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can choose between FWD and AWD layouts, but there's no manual AWD option.
Upcoming Changes
Jeep is gearing up to launch a facelift for the Meridian, spotted testing with an ADAS suite from Bosch. Speculations also point to a future petrol engine option for both Compass and Meridian. This could help in attracting more buyers and boosting sales.
