Jeep Brand Showcases Gladiator Mojave At Rebelle Rally 2024 With Veteran Competitors
The Jeep brand is making a return to the Rebelle Rally with the 2024 Gladiator Mojave, driven by experienced competitors Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit. This marks their fourth consecutive year partnering with Jeep, but it's their first time competing in a Gladiator midsize pickup. The team has previously won the Overall and Bone Stock awards twice in the last three years.
The Rebelle Rally is a unique women's off-road navigation event in the United States. It combines driving passion with precise navigation challenges over eight days and 1,500 miles through Nevada and California deserts. This setting is perfect for showcasing the Jeep Gladiator Mojave's durability and capability.
The 2024 Gladiator Mojave stands out as the only Jeep vehicle with a Desert Rated badge. It features new elements like standard side-curtain airbags and a 12.3-inch Uconnect touchscreen radio. Designed for high-speed desert terrains, it boasts a reinforced frame, strengthened axles, iron steering knuckles, and an enhanced suspension system.
Bob Broderdorf, senior vice president of Jeep brand North America, stated, "The Jeep community will be rallying behind Nena and Teralin as they unleash the full potential of Gladiator Mojave." He added that the Mojave is built for desert terrain and podium finishes with these skilled drivers.
Now in its ninth year, the Rebelle Rally is the longest women's off-road competition in the U.S., covering over 1,500 miles through Nevada and California's iconic landscapes. The event focuses on precision driving and navigation rather than speed, using maps, compasses, roadbooks, and strategy without GPS or cell phones.
Nena Barlow runs Barlow Adventures in Arizona, offering four-wheel-drive training and guided trips. Teralin Petereit from Utah is a nurse who enjoys off-roading as a hobby. Together they have competed in 14 rallies (three as teammates) with 12 individual podium finishes.
Gladiator Mojave's Capabilities
The Gladiator Mojave excels in five key areas: ride control and stability, traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, and desert prowess. Its desert-tuned suspension ensures control over rough terrain while maximizing running clearances helps it tackle dunes effectively.
Barlow expressed her excitement about representing Jeep again: "We’re honored to represent the Jeep brand once again," she said. "The rally is tougher than ever, but we don’t have to worry about capability in our Jeep Gladiator Mojave."
