Jeep Brand Celebrates Team #129's Third Victory At The Rebelle Rally With Gladiator Mojave
The 2024 Rebelle Rally concluded with Nena Barlow and Teralin Petereit, representing Team #129, claiming victory in a Jeep Gladiator Mojave. This marks their third win in four years at this prestigious event. The Rebelle Rally is the only all-women off-road navigation competition in the U.S., challenging participants over 1,500 miles across Nevada and California without GPS or cell phones.
The Jeep Gladiator Mojave, the sole vehicle with a Desert Rated badge, debuted at the rally with new features like side-curtain airbags and a 12.3-inch touchscreen. It excels in high-speed desert conditions thanks to its reinforced frame, iron steering knuckles, and advanced suspension. The Mojave's design allows it to handle harsh desert environments effortlessly.
Bob Broderdorf, senior vice president of Jeep brand North America, praised Barlow and Petereit's performance: "Congratulations to Nena and Teralin on their incredible victory at the 2024 Rebelle Rally behind the wheel of a 2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave." He also commended other teams using Jeep vehicles for their achievements.
The Rebelle Rally spans eight days and tests competitors' driving and navigation skills using maps and compasses. It is not about speed but precision. This rally serves as a testing ground for both drivers and vehicles under extreme conditions. Participants must rely solely on their skills without any external support or modern technology.
Nena Barlow operates Barlow Adventures in Arizona, offering four-wheel-drive training and guided trips. Her teammate, Teralin Petereit from Utah, is a nurse who enjoys off-roading as a hobby. Together, they have participated in 16 rallies, achieving podium finishes 14 times.
Veteran Competitors Shine Again
Barlow expressed her satisfaction with the rally: "The course was rough, the competition was tough, but it was like the Mojave was built for exactly this rally." She highlighted how they maximized the vehicle's capabilities throughout the event. Their teamwork and experience were crucial to their success.
Emily Miller, founder of the Rebelle Rally, acknowledged their achievement: "Barlow, Petereit and Jeep remain a winning combination at the Rebelle Rally." She noted that their victory was achieved with an unmodified Bone Stock vehicle.
