Jaguar Land Rover India Celebrates Record-Breaking 81% Sales Increase
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India announced a significant sales milestone, showcasing an 81 percent growth in year-on-year retail sales. This performance marks JLR India's best in the last five years, with a total of 4,436 units sold. The fourth quarter of the year alone saw sales of 854 units, highlighting the brand's strong finish to the financial year.
The luxury car manufacturer credits the surge in demand for premium vehicles in India for this success. Notably, the Range Rover models led the charge with an impressive 160 percent increase in sales, followed closely by the Defender models, which saw a 120 percent rise. Other models in the JLR lineup also experienced significant growth; the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque recorded 50 percent and 55 percent increases, respectively.
Rajan Amba, the Managing Director of JLR India, spoke on the achievement, pointing to the increasing appetite for luxury vehicles in India, especially the Range Rover and Defender, as key drivers of the company's growth. He also noted the importance of a series of retail sales records in building confidence in JLR's strategic direction and future vision.
Beyond new vehicle sales, JLR India's certified pre-owned business also enjoyed a 28 percent growth year-on-year. Looking ahead, JLR has ambitious plans to embrace electrification across its model ranges.

The company intends to roll out pure electric models for the Range Rover, Discovery, and Defender lines by the end of the decade. Jaguar, another marque under the JLR umbrella, is set to transition to an all-electric lineup within the same timeframe, marking a significant shift towards sustainable automotive solutions.
