JAECOO Unveils New Off-Road Brand At Goodwood Festival Of Speed
New off-road brand JAECOO will make its European debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 11 to 14 July. The JAECOO 7, their first model, will be showcased alongside OMODA models in 'The Grid' and the First Glance Paddock. The Duke of Richmond will officially welcome JAECOO to Europe at midday on Thursday, 11 July.
JAECOO's philosophy, "From Classic, Beyond Classic," is embodied by former F1 driver Richard Attwood, who will drive the JAECOO 7 up Goodwood hill. This event marks the vehicle's European dynamic public debut. Attendees can enjoy traditional Chinese soft drinks while learning about the new model at JAECOO’s stand.
The JAECOO 7 is a premium SUV that combines off-road capability with a stylish design and tech-rich interior. It features a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with front- or four-wheel drive options. Plug-in hybrid and all-electric variants are also planned for future release.
The SUV includes a 14.8" high-resolution touchscreen, a 10.25" digital instrument panel, and a head-up display for an intuitive driving experience. Multi-colour interior lighting, wireless phone charging, an eight-speaker Sony audio system, and a panoramic roof enhance the cabin's sophistication.
The JAECOO 7 boasts seven driving modes like Sand, Mud, Snow, and Off-Road settings to handle various terrains. It has approach and departure angles of 21 and 29 degrees respectively, with a maximum breakover angle of 200 mm. A Bosch-developed Integrated Power Brake (IPB) system enhances its four-wheel-drive capabilities.
The vehicle measures 4,500 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,672 mm, width of 1,865 mm, and height of 1,680 mm. It features an 80% high-strength steel body and includes ten airbags. The SUV meets global five-star safety standards and comes with a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty.
UK Launch Plans
JAECOO's UK launch will be supported by over 70 jointly-branded dealer sites with plans to expand to 100 by year-end. Major dealer groups like Allen Motor Group and Arnold Clark are backing this rollout. Pre-reservations for the JAECOO 7 are now open with refundable deposits available.
First UK deliveries are expected in late 2024. Customers can claim priority places when prices are announced in autumn by making pre-reservations now.
