Iron Dames To Thrill At Goodwood Festival 2024 With Iconic Hillclimb And Rally Runs
Following their debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2022 and a notable run up the 1.86-kilometre Hill in 2023, the Iron Dames are set to return for the 2024 edition of this iconic motorsport event. This year, they will be driving the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2 up the Hill for the first time.
Michelin Le Mans Cup drivers Célia Martin and Karen Gaillard will be behind the wheel of the Huracán GT3 Evo 2. The duo has already achieved a pole position and podium finish with this car in 2024, most recently competing in the Road to Le Mans at Circuit de la Sarthe.
Additionally, the Iron Dames rallying team, consisting of Sarah Rumeau and Julie Amblard, will participate in Goodwood’s Forest Rally Stage with their Ford Fiesta Rally2. This marks their first appearance at the event, adding another layer of excitement to their participation.
The theme for the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed is ‘Horseless to Hybrid: Revolutions in Power’. This theme celebrates 130 years since the world’s first motor race, highlighting advancements in automotive technology. The turbocharged Fiesta and V10 Huracán exemplify these technological strides.
The Iron Dames project itself is a testament to progress in motorsport, showcasing innovation while honouring past achievements. Their participation underscores the festival’s commitment to celebrating both history and future advancements.
The 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed will take place from Thursday, 11 July to Sunday, 14 July. The event will be livestreamed on Goodwood’s YouTube channel, allowing global audiences to witness the festivities.
