IONNA Launches First Rechargery In Apex, North Carolina, Appoints Jackie Slope As CTO
IONNA has begun construction on its first electric vehicle charging site in Apex, North Carolina. This marks a significant step for the company, which is backed by major automakers like BMW, General Motors, and Toyota. The new site will transform a historic gas station into a modern charging hub, offering advanced facilities for drivers.
The new Rechargery will feature 10 covered parking bays equipped with CCS and NACS charging ports. These ports can deliver up to 400kW and 800+ Volts of power. Drivers can enjoy an indoor lounge with amenities such as bathrooms, coffee service, food options, and WIFI while their vehicles charge. Outdoor spaces will also cater to pets.
Located in the historic district of Apex, this site is symbolic for IONNA. The town was originally built around a railroad steam engine refill pond. Now, almost a century after one of its first gas stations opened, IONNA aims to restore this location to serve modern transportation needs.
Jackie Slope has joined IONNA as Chief Technology Officer. With over 15 years in Sports and Entertainment, she has led customer experience initiatives at venues like Crypto.com Arena. Jackie will focus on deploying technology to enhance customer interactions at IONNA's charging sites.

IONNA is a collaborative venture among eight leading automakers aiming to redefine EV charging experiences. By 2030, they plan to establish over 30,000 ultra-fast charging points nationwide. Their mission includes integrating retail services and providing reliable coverage for urban and long-distance travel.
This initiative reflects IONNA's commitment to enhancing EV mobility through innovative solutions and comprehensive customer service. The Apex site is just the beginning of their ambitious plans to expand their network across the country.
