INEOS Automotive Debuts Exclusive Grenadier Detour Limited Edition

INEOS Automotive has introduced the INEOS Grenadier Detour, the first limited edition vehicle from its new Arcane Works division. Only 200 units will be produced, each featuring bespoke design elements and hand-finished in the UK. Customers can personalise their vehicles with a range of internal and external options, including a custom paint palette and tailored exhaust system.

The Detour models stand out with unique 18-inch forged alloy wheels, a specially designed front grille with headlight surrounds, and four exclusive paint finishes: Magma Red, Whiteout Blue, Squall Green, and Storm Force Silver. Each colour is hand-polished to enhance its finish. Additionally, customers can opt for the Arcane Works bespoke paint option, allowing them to match the vehicle's colour to a sample they provide.

Inside the cabin, personalisation continues with two new satin finishes for the transmission tunnel, doors, and air-vents. Drivers can choose from four fine-grain Bridge of Weir leathers for quilted seat upholstery and two cashmeres from Johnstons of Elgin for the headlining. All Detour models feature a laser-etched aluminium door scuff plate displaying their limited-edition status.

The launch of Arcane Works marks INEOS Automotive’s venture into creating highly customised limited editions of its award-winning 4x4s. George Ratcliffe, Commercial Director at INEOS Automotive, explains the division's name choice: "We chose the Arcane name for our new division because the limited-edition vehicles it creates will be so unique as to be rarely spotted in the wild." He adds that working in small batches allows for a level of individuality not found in the 4X4 market.

The Detour retains all of Grenadier’s refined dynamics and off-road capabilities while offering extensive customisation options. Customers can select from various external and internal design features to enhance both personalisation and long-distance comfort. The vehicle continues to offer two straight-six, 3.0-litre BMW engines known for their refined driving experience.

Handcrafted Excellence

Each Detour model will be hand-finished using high-quality materials sourced from UK-based suppliers. This includes leathers from Bridge of Weir, cashmere from Johnstons of Elgin, and unique badging from British jewellers Vaughtons. The exterior contrast pack offers new colour options for front and rear skid plates, roof rails, and rear ladder while decoloured exterior lighting provides a sleek visual appeal.

The Detour also features an exclusively tailored exhaust system in petrol models to enhance sound character and emotion. This attention to detail ensures that each vehicle is not only unique but also delivers an exceptional driving experience.

A Platform for Innovation

Arcane Works will serve as a test bed for new technologies and systems for future INEOS vehicles. This includes uprated engine modifications, new chassis systems, and innovative materials and features. Each run of limited-edition vehicles will showcase unique features and carry a specifically tailored name.

The official debut of the Grenadier Detour took place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The event highlighted how this model retains all the Grenadier’s capabilities while offering unparalleled levels of personalisation.
