Top 10 SUVs In India: June 2024 Sales Analysis
The SUV market in India saw a notable rise in June 2024, with the top 10 SUVs selling a total of 1,19,649 units. This marked an 18.01% increase compared to June 2023. Tata Punch led the charts with 18,238 units sold, a significant jump of 65.95% from the previous year.
Hyundai Creta followed closely, selling 16,293 units in June 2024, which was a 12.78% increase from June 2023. Maruti Brezza also showed strong performance with sales rising by 24.52%, reaching 13,172 units compared to last year's figures.

Top Performers and Market Share
Mahindra Scorpio and its N variant saw a substantial boost in sales, recording a 42.31% increase with 12,307 units sold in June 2024. Despite a decline, Tata Nexon and its EV variant managed to sell 12,066 units, down by 12.74% from the previous year.
Hyundai Venue experienced a drop in sales by 14.79%, selling only 9,890 units compared to last year's figures of 11,606 units. Kia Sonet showed healthy growth with a rise of 27.12%, selling 9,816 units in June this year.

Month-on-Month Sales Comparison
When comparing month-on-month sales for June and May of this year, there was a slight decline of 2.05%. The total sales for the top 10 SUVs were down from May's figure of 1,22,148 units to June's total of 1,19,649 units.
Tata Punch saw a minor drop of 3.75% from May's sales of 18,949 units. However, Hyundai Creta exhibited impressive growth with an increase of 11.12%, selling more units in June compared to May.

Maruti Brezza faced a decrease in sales by 7.15%, dropping to 13,172 units from May's figure of 14,186 units. Mahindra Scorpio and its N variant also saw a decline by 10.28%, selling fewer units in June than in May.
Other Notable Changes
Tata Nexon had a positive month with sales increasing by 5.32%, reaching up to 12,066 units from May's total of 11,457 units. Hyundai Venue also improved its sales by 6.04%, achieving higher numbers in June compared to May.

Kia Sonet showcased the highest month-on-month growth among the top performers with an impressive surge of 32.06%, selling significantly more units in June than it did in May.
Maruti Fronx experienced the most significant decline among the top SUVs with sales dropping by a notable margin of 23.60%. It sold fewer units in June compared to its performance in May.
Sales Performance Overview
Maruti Grand Vitara had a slight decrease in sales by just under one percent from May's figures to June's numbers. Mahindra XUV300 experienced a notable decline as well with its sales falling by exactly fifteen percent between these two months.
The SUV market continues to show dynamic changes month over month and year over year as consumer preferences shift and new models enter the market. Consumers are increasingly gravitating towards SUVs due to their versatility, spaciousness, and perceived safety.
This trend has led to a surge in new SUV models being introduced by automakers to cater to the growing demand. As a result, the SUV market has become highly competitive, with manufacturers constantly innovating to offer the latest technology, features, and designs to attract buyers.
