July 2024 SUV Sales In India: Hyundai Creta Tops With Remarkable Growth

In July 2024, the top 10 cars in India sold a total of 146,595 units, up from 136,145 units in July 2023. This represents a 7.68% growth in the market. Hyundai Creta led the sales with 17,350 units, a significant increase from 14,062 units last year, reflecting a 23.38% growth and an 11.84% market share.

Top Performers in July 2024

Maruti Swift saw a decline in sales to 16,854 units from last year's 17,896 units, marking a 5.82% decrease but still holding an 11.50% market share. Maruti WagonR experienced impressive growth with sales rising to 16,191 units from 12,970 units in July 2023, capturing an 11.04% market share.

Tata Punch, including its EV variant, made notable strides by selling 16,121 units compared to last year's 12,019 units. This represents a remarkable increase of 34.13%, securing an 11.00% market share. Maruti Ertiga also performed well with sales increasing to 15,701 units from last year's 14,352 units, reflecting a growth of 9.40% and capturing a market share of 10.71%.

Declines and Growths

Maruti Brezza saw its sales drop to 14,676 units from last year's figure of 16,543 units, marking an 11.29% decrease but maintaining a market share of 10.01%. Tata Nexon and its EV variant showed positive growth with sales reaching 13,902 units compared to last year's figure of 12,349 units, reflecting a growth of 12.58% and capturing a market share of 9.48%.

Mahindra Scorpio and its N variant sold a combined total of 12,237 units this year compared to last year's figure of 10,522 units. This represents a growth of 16.30%, securing an overall market share of 8.35%. Maruti EECO experienced a slight decline in sales to reach only 11,916 units compared to last year's figure of 12,037 units.

SUV Market Dynamics

The Indian SUV market also saw significant changes in July with the top ten SUVs accounting for total sales of 122,907 units compared to last year's figure of 106,634 units representing an overall growth rate of 15.26%. Hyundai Creta led this segment as well with 17,350 units sold up from 14,062 units last year marking 23.38% growth and securing a 14.12% market share.

Tata Punch continued its strong performance selling 16,121 units up from 12,019 units last year marking34 .13 %increase and capturing13.12% market share while Maruti Brezza despite popularity saw a decline dropping 14,676 units down from 16,543 units reflecting an 11.29% decrease holding 11.94% market share.
