Maruti's WagonR and Baleno experienced a decline in sales, while the DZire saw a notable growth of 28.95%. Maruti models held a significant share of 16% on the list.

Significant Growth for Specific Models
In the SUV segment, the Maruti Fronx showed remarkable growth with an 189.05% increase in sales. The Eeco van also saw an improvement in its numbers.
Conversely, Hyundai Venue and Maruti Alto faced a decline in their sales figures. The Mahindra Bolero and Kia Sonet had modest growth, while Toyota Innova performed well with a 52.52% increase in sales.
Other notable models included Hyundai Exter, Seltos, Tata Tiago/EV, Mahindra XUV700, and Mahindra Thar. Sales for the Hyundai i20, Mahindra XUV3XO, Hyundai i10, Kia Carens, Tata Altroz, Hyundai Aura, and Toyota Hyryder either declined or showed modest growth.
Maruti Suzuki's Dominance
SUVs and crossovers remained the preferred choice among Indian car buyers throughout H1 2024. Maruti Suzuki continued to lead the market with its extensive range of models capturing significant market share.
The overall trend indicates a growing preference for electric vehicles (EVs) among Indian consumers. This is highlighted by the success of Tata Punch/EV as the best-selling car during this period. The data underscores that discount schemes and exchange offers have been effective strategies for boosting car sales in India during this time frame.
