Hyundai Secures Gold Merit Award For Exceptional CSR In Youth Career Development

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 10, 2024 – Hyundai Motor America has been honoured as a Gold Winner for the 2024 Merit Awards for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in HR. This accolade recognises Hyundai's philanthropic and youth development initiatives, particularly the Career Experience Program. The programme, supported by Hyundai's employee resource group (ERG), Amigos Unidos, aims to generate interest in diverse career opportunities within the automotive industry.

The Career Experience Program is an annual event held at Hyundai National Headquarters in Fountain Valley, Calif. On October 13, 2023, college students attended the programme to explore various career paths in the automotive sector. The initiative targets middle school and first- and second-year college students, offering them a chance to hear from employees across different departments and participate in workshops.

Brandon Ramirez, director of corporate social responsibility at Hyundai Motor America, expressed pride in receiving the Merit Award. "This initiative is a testament to Hyundai’s ongoing commitment to our local community and developing the future of the automotive workforce," he said.

The Merit Awards for human resources were judged based on submissions that addressed leadership, innovation, and positive work environment. The judging panel included industry executives, Merit Awards staff, media members, and consultants.
