Hyundai Secures Fifth Consecutive IMSA Manufacturers' Championship With Strong Finish At Fox Factory 120

Hyundai has clinched its fifth consecutive IMSA Michelin Pilot Championship Manufacturers’ title in the TCR class. This achievement came after a strong performance at the Fox Factory 120 in Road Atlanta. Hyundai Motor America wrapped up the season with a victory, marking their fourth win of the year. The team also secured three of the top four spots in the Drivers’ Championship.

In a thrilling race, Mason Filippi and Mark Wilkins drove the No. 98 Hyundai Elantra N TCR to back-to-back victories. Their strategic fuel management allowed them to overtake competitors during pitstops. Wilkins took over for the final laps, ultimately winning when the leading car ran out of fuel on the last lap.

Bryson Morris excelled in qualifying, securing pole position for Hyundai with his second TCR pole of 2024. His impressive lap set a new TCR record at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. The No. 77 car led Hyundai’s lineup, followed closely by other Hyundai vehicles in top starting positions.

Preston Brown started last among Hyundais but delivered a strong opening stint in the No. 76 Elantra N TCR. Denis Dupont capitalised on this, finishing second for their team. Meanwhile, Harry Gottsacker and Robert Wickens finished just off the podium in fourth place with their consistent performance.

Taylor Hagler and Bryson Morris faced setbacks due to a lengthy pitstop despite leading early on. Hagler managed to recover well, finishing eighth. In contrast, Morgan Burkhard and Tyler Gonzalez led much of the race but ended eleventh after running out of fuel on the final lap.

The SRO TC America series saw Hyundai sweep all championships, including Manufacturers’, Teams’, and Drivers’. Jeff Ricca and Ricca Autosport dominated with top finishes in 11 out of 14 rounds, showcasing Hyundai’s prowess in this competitive series.

Hyundai Hope On Wheels Initiative

In 2024, Hyundai pledged $100 per lap led by an Elantra N TCR for charity through Hope On Wheels. At Road Atlanta, they led 69 laps, resulting in a $6,900 donation. This brings their season total contribution to over $38,000.
