Hyundai Venue S Plus Variant Launched In India At Rs 9.36 Lakh: Sunroof Becomes More Accessible

Hyundai Venue has been a significant player in the sub-4m SUV market, competing with models like Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger. To strengthen its position, Hyundai has launched the Hyundai Venue S Plus variant, which aims to attract more customers by offering an electrically operated single-pane sunroof at a competitive price of Rs 9,35,800 (Ex-showroom).

This makes it the most affordable sunroof-equipped variant in the Venue lineup. The S Plus trim is available with a 1.2L 4-cylinder Kappa NA Petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Hyundai Venue's Competitive Edge

Positioned between the Venue S and Venue S(O) variants, the S Plus offers additional features at a lower price point. Previously, the most affordable sunroof variant was the S (O) Plus, launched earlier this month at Rs 10 lakh (Ex-showroom). With the introduction of the S Plus variant, Hyundai aims to capitalise on the growing trend of sunroofs in India.

The Hyundai Venue S Plus comes equipped with several notable features. These include a digital cluster with TFT multi-info display (MID), an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Basic features like rear AC vents, roof rails, six airbags, TPMS, automatic headlights, electronic stability control (ESC), and hill-start assist are also included.

Enhanced Features For Better Appeal

The powertrain of the Hyundai Venue S Plus continues to deliver 82 bhp of peak power and 114 Nm of peak torque. This combination has proven reliable and efficient for urban commuting. Depending on market demand, Hyundai may introduce other powertrain options in the future.

In July 2024, Hyundai Venue sold nearly 9K units, securing an 8.65% market share within the sub-4m SUV segment. This performance places it among the top contenders in its category. The addition of functional roof rails and a shark fin antenna further enhances its appeal.

With these strategic enhancements and competitive pricing, Hyundai aims to capture a larger share of the sub-4m SUV market. The introduction of sunroof-equipped variants at lower price points is expected to drive sales growth significantly.

The launch of the Hyundai Venue S Plus variant reflects Hyundai's commitment to offering value-packed options for customers seeking stylish yet affordable SUVs. By continuously updating its lineup with desirable features like sunroofs and advanced infotainment systems, Hyundai remains competitive in this highly contested segment.
