Hyundai's EV App Tops J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Rankings, Influencing Purchase Decisions
Hyundai’s MyHyundai with Bluelink app has secured the highest ranking among mass-market electric vehicle (EV) mobile applications in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. OEM EV App Report. The app achieved a score of 835, surpassing the segment average of 757 by 78 points. This recognition highlights Hyundai's commitment to enhancing user experience through continuous improvements.
"Being recognized as the top mass-market OEM EV mobile application provider is a huge achievement for us," said Manish Mehrotra, vice president of digital business planning and connected operations at Hyundai Motor North America. He emphasized that Hyundai's year-over-year score improvement underscores the company's dedication to delivering superior user experiences.
The report reveals that 67% of EV drivers use their original equipment manufacturer (OEM) apps at least half the time they drive. This indicates that well-designed smartphone apps significantly influence EV purchase decisions. The best-performing apps, including MyHyundai with Bluelink, offer essential features such as setting charging parameters and accurate monitoring of active charging sessions.
The MyHyundai with Bluelink app excelled in three out of five evaluation categories: Customer Journey, Functionality, and Software. It was praised for enhancements in charge management and improved remote command execution timing. Additionally, the app offers robust remote-control capabilities, including surround-view camera access, detailed remote vehicle status, and phone-as-key technology.
