New York Auto Show: 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup Revealed
South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has just revealed the 2025 model year Santa Cruz pickup truck at the New York Auto Show. The updated unibody MY2025 Santa Cruz pickup continues to be based on Hyundai's N3 platform that also underpins the Tucson SUV.
The Santa Cruz which will start hitting US dealerships later this year has a undergone a complete makeover for the 2025 Model Year with redesigned looks, upgraded technology, and improved off-road capabilities.
The changes to the 2025 Santa Cruz in terms of its looks include more agrssive front fascia which mimic the changes seen on the Tucson including what Hyundai calls a 'menacing' new grille along with redesigned headlights.
The new Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup also features a more off-road-oriented XRT model which sports 245/60 R18 off-road tyres on its 18-inch alloys wheels. Apart from the grip, the 2025 Santa Cruz XRT gets increased approach and departure angles along with tweaks to the design in the form of revised front and rear bumpers and anew grille design along with front tow hooks.
The changes to the interior are more visible with the dual 12.3-inch displays for the instrumentation and the infotainment sitting behind a single curved pane of glass. Also seen is a revised dashboard with physical controls for the HVAC and audio systems on the centre console and a new shwelf that sits atop the glovebox.
The new infotainment system offers wireless integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and now also supports over over-the-air software and firmware updates. The Santa Cruz also supports Hyundai's Bluelink+ connected car features and safety tech like Forward Attenion Warning.
Under the bonnet, there have been no changes to the 2025 Santa Cruz. The updated pickup truck comes equipped with either a 2.5-litre inline-4 engine that puts out 188bhp that is paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The other powertrain option is the turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 275bhp and is connected to an eight-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The turbocharged version of the Santa Cruz (Limited and XRT models only) also feature a new towing mode.

The new Hyundai Santa Cruz brings it with a quite a few upgrades that make it quite attractive option for those looking for a sporty little pickup in the American market.
While it is highly unlikely that Hyundai will being the new Santa Cruz to the Indian Market, the South Korean firm should perhaps consider bringing the sporty pickup to India conidering the growing demand for its pickups in India like Toyota's Hilux and the Isuzu V-Cross.
