Hyundai Motor India Charges Ahead: Expands Ultra-Fast EV Charging Network Nationwide

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has taken a significant leap forward in boosting India's electric vehicle infrastructure with the expansion of its Ultra-Fast charging stations network across the country. HMIL has set up 11 Ultra-Fast public charging stations, positioning itself as the sole OEM in India to achieve this milestone.

These charging stations are strategically located in key cities such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Gurugram, as well as on major highways including Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Mumbai-Surat, and Mumbai-Nashik. Operating 24/7, most of these stations are equipped with marshals to assist EV users.

Jae Wan Ryu, Executive Director of Corporate Planning at HMIL, emphasized the company's commitment to driving progress and enhancing the EV ownership experience. With a focus on creating a holistic EV ecosystem in alignment with the Government of India's objectives, HMIL aims to reduce range anxiety and accelerate the adoption of EVs.

The introduction of Ultra-Fast DC chargers with varying capacities—ranging from 30 kW to 150 kW—ensures quick charging experiences for customers, particularly benefiting Hyundai IONIQ 5 owners who can charge their vehicles from 10% to 80% within just 21 minutes.

To further enhance the user experience, charging sessions can be booked through Hyundai's app, myHyundai, which also provides navigation to these chargers, multiple digital payment options, and charging status monitoring.

In addition to expanding its Ultra-Fast charging network, HMIL is committed to installing 100 charging stations by 2027, as part of its agreement with the Government of Tamil Nadu. This expansion underscores HMIL's dedication to advancing smart mobility solutions and supporting the growth of electric vehicles in India.

As India's leading smart mobility solutions provider, HMIL continues to innovate and lead the industry with its comprehensive model lineup and state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities. With a robust network of sales and service points across the country, HMIL remains at the forefront of shaping the future of mobility, through sustainable solutions.
