Hyundai Motor Group Calls For Entries In The Prestigious 6th VH AWARD For Media Artists

SEOUL, May 9, 2024 – Hyundai Motor Group has officially opened the call for entries for the prestigious 6th VH AWARD, marking a significant opportunity for emerging media artists across Asia and those of Asian descent globally. This initiative, first launched in 2016, serves as a vital platform for artists to present their innovative audiovisual screen-based artworks, fostering a dialogue on various cultural and socio-political themes pertinent to Asia.

From May 9 to July 5, 2024, artists are invited to submit their proposals through the VH AWARD's official website. The award is open to both individuals and collectives that produce work encapsulating the essence of Asia. DooEun Choi, Art Director of Hyundai Motor Company, expressed enthusiasm for the diversity and inclusion that the award promotes among participants, shaping the narrative of Asia's past, present, and future.

An esteemed panel comprising international art professionals will evaluate submissions based on criteria such as originality, aesthetic appeal, conceptual depth, and technological sophistication. Five finalists will be chosen to receive a $25,000 grant each for the creation of new artworks. Additionally, they will partake in an online residency program hosted by Eyebeam, a renowned art and technology center based in New York.

The climax of this artistic journey will be in June 2025 when the Grand Prix winner is unveiled. This recipient will be awarded an extra $25,000 grant. The final creations from all finalists will then be showcased at various prestigious art institutions and platforms around the globe.
