Hyundai Reaches 100 Million Milestone: Production Of Passenger Vehicles Globally
Hyundai Motor Company has reached a significant milestone by producing 100 million passenger vehicles globally. This figure includes cars sold under the Genesis and high-performance N brands. The company achieved this feat in 57 years, starting from its Ulsan Plant in South Korea. A ceremony at the plant marked the occasion, with the delivery of the 100 millionth vehicle, an Ioniq 5 EV, to a customer.
Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, expressed gratitude for customer support worldwide. He stated, "Reaching global cumulative production of 100 million vehicles is a meaningful milestone that was possible thanks to our customers around the world who have chosen and supported Hyundai Motor since the very beginning." He emphasised that innovation and bold challenges have driven their growth.

Hyundai's Historical Journey
The Ulsan plant commenced operations in 1968 and produced Korea's first mass-produced model, the Pony, in 1975. In November 2023, Hyundai held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new electric vehicle (EV) plant at its Ulsan complex. This facility is expected to become Hyundai's global hub for EVs once construction is complete.
