Hyundai Motor America Reports Best May Sales For IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, Tucson HEV, Santa Fe HEV, Palisade And Santa Cruz
Hyundai Motor America reported a 12% increase in total sales for May 2024, reaching 78,485 units compared to May 2023. This marks a significant achievement for the company, with record sales for models such as the IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, Tucson HEV, Santa Fe HEV, Palisade, and Santa Cruz.
Hyundai's retail sales in May rose by 9% year-over-year (YOY), driven primarily by the Palisade, IONIQ 5, and Santa Fe HEV. The company's electric vehicle (EV) sales saw a notable 42% increase YOY. Randy Parker, CEO of Hyundai Motor America, highlighted the success of their eco-friendly lineup, which experienced a 50% overall increase YOY.

Hyundai has also received nine TOP SAFETY PICK recognitions from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) for its 2024 models. The Santa Fe and Sonata were designated as TOP SAFETY PICKs, while the IONIQ 5 was upgraded to a TOP SAFETY PICK+.

The company also led U.S. News & World Report's 2024 Best Cars for Teens Awards for the third consecutive year. The Sonata was named Best Midsize Vehicle at the Texas Auto Writers Association's Annual Auto Roundup.
