Hyundai Leads in Workplace Culture

Hyundai Canada's commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment has been a key factor in attracting a diverse talent pool. The Human Resources and Administration teams lead with a people-first approach, consistently seeking feedback from team members to evolve its positive workplace culture.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are core principles at Hyundai Canada. The executive leadership team actively works to build a positive workplace culture and invest in its team members. Over the years, they have successfully closed the gender gap in automotive with 39 per cent of team members identifying as women and 50 per cent of National Managers being female.

The company also offers a cross-departmental mentorship program that provides team members with a holistic understanding of the business and exposes them to various career opportunities across different departments.

Employee Wellness Initiatives

Hyundai Auto Canada provides various wellness services for its employees. These include health checkups, on-site massages, dry-cleaning services, free breakfast and lunch, and vehicle leasing programs. Additionally, the Human Resources team continuously revises employee health and wellness benefits and has expanded support to include free access to virtual care for employees and their families.

The dedication of Hyundai Canada's Human Resources and Administration teams is evident in their daily efforts. Don Romano, president and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada, stated: "The best way to serve our diverse customer base is to build an inclusive and positive workplace culture that represents our multicultural Canadian market. It’s also simply the right thing to do."

Hyundai Auto Canada's achievements extend beyond corporate culture awards. The company's mid-level management comprises 65 per cent self-identifying diverse individuals. Furthermore, HAC's efforts in diversity have been recognised independently for their contributions to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
