Hyundai IONIQ 5 EV Secures Spot On Car And Driver's Prestigious 10Best Trucks List For Third Consecutive Year
The IONIQ 5 from Hyundai has secured a spot on Car and Driver's 10Best Trucks for 2025 list. This marks the third consecutive year the all-electric SUV has been recognised. The model's appeal is enhanced by the introduction of high-performance IONIQ 5 N and rugged XRT variants, alongside a mid-cycle update that offers new features, better ergonomics, and extended range.
Hyundai's IONIQ 5 models are now manufactured at the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Bryan County, Georgia. This state-of-the-art facility underscores Hyundai's commitment to innovation and quality. The updated-for-2025 IONIQ 5 includes enhancements such as increased battery capacity and driving range, along with innovative new features.
Car and Driver evaluates vehicles using a 100-point scale, considering each model's purpose, value, and operation. The annual 10Best list highlights top trucks and SUVs in the industry. As a previous winner, the IONIQ 5 was invited to defend its position on this prestigious list.
The IONIQ 5 N variant is noted for its exceptional performance in the electric vehicle sector. "Hyundai isn't resting on its laurels," said deputy editor Joey Capparella. "Even though the IONIQ 5 has been our most decorated electric SUV since its debut, in the spirit of continuous improvement, Hyundai treated the 2025 model to numerous updates."
Olabisi Boyle, senior vice president of product planning and mobility strategy at Hyundai Motor North America, remarked on this achievement: "Winning one title is an achievement. Two is an even greater accomplishment, but three is a trend." Boyle emphasised that the IONIQ 5 was developed by listening to customer feedback, resulting in a smart design combined with advanced engineering.
The accolades for the IONIQ 5 add to its growing list of awards. It also holds Car and Driver’s 2024 EV of the Year title for a third consecutive year. This recognition reflects Hyundai's dedication to delivering high-quality electric vehicles that meet consumer needs.
