Hyundai Elantra N1 TC Evo Race Car Set For SRO Competition Debut In 2025
Hyundai Motor America has introduced the Elantra N1 TC Evo race car at Sonoma Raceway. This model will compete in the SRO Touring Car America series starting in 2025. The vehicle aims to highlight Hyundai's N performance capabilities. It will debut at the TC America series opener in March at Sonoma Raceway, as Hyundai defends its 2024 TC Driver’s, Team, and Manufacturer’s Championship titles.
The Elantra N1 TC Evo features an updated exterior inspired by the global ELANTRA N1 Cup Car. This car competes in Korea's Hyundai N Festival and China's Hyundai N Cup. Enhancements include wide fenders and 18x10-inch wheels, meeting SRO TC Series homologation standards. These updates continue ELANTRA N's legacy of success in racing and daily driving.
Hyundai will introduce the Hyundai N Trophy Cup within the TC America Series. This format allows competitors to race against other Hyundai entrants while also participating in the entire TC Series. The Hyundai N Trophy Cup will be held during four of the series' seven race weekends, including both three-race weekend events, with separate championship points tracking.
The Elantra N1 TC Evo is based on the roadgoing Hyundai Elantra N, offering a platform for drivers to enhance their skills. The TC America series provides a challenging yet safe environment for competition. At season's end, one driver will be chosen to participate in the Nürburgring 24 Hour endurance race as part of an international program for junior drivers.
The Elantra N1 TC Evo is equipped with a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine featuring single turbo and direct injection technology. It delivers a maximum power of 315 hp at 6,700 rpm and torque of 274 ft.-lbs. at 5,920 rpm. The car includes an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox with steering wheel paddle shifters.
