Hyundai Elantra N TCR Triumphs With Double-Podium At Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

Robert Wickens and Harry Gottsacker secured their first TCR win as a team, leading Hyundai to victory at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP). This win marks Wickens' second triumph at this track, having previously won in 2022 with Mark Wilkins. The No. 33 Hyundai Elantra N TCR clinched pole position thanks to Gottsacker's impressive qualifying performance.

The No. 76 and No. 77 cars had notable races, overcoming challenging qualifying sessions. Starting from eighth and seventh places respectively, Preston Brown and Taylor Hagler quickly advanced through the field. They handed over to Denis Dupont and Bryson Morris, who continued the strong pace, finishing third and fourth respectively.

After an early puncture, the No. 98 car managed to recover despite being a lap down. Mark Wilkins and Mason Filippi delivered strong performances, securing a sixth-place finish. This resilience highlights Hyundai's competitive edge in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) season.

In 2024, Hyundai Hope On Wheels pledged $100 for each lap led by a Hyundai Elantra N TCR during races. At Watkins Glen International, Hyundai cars led for 35 laps, resulting in a $3,500 donation by Hyundai and Bryan Herta Autosport to Hope On Wheels.

Following the sixth round of IMPC competition, Hyundai trails Audi by just 20 points in the Manufacturers’ Championship. The next challenge for Hyundai is the Road America 120 in Wisconsin on August 3, 2024.
