Hyundai Creta Leads As India's Best-Selling Car In July 2024: Seltos Sales Drops Massively
The Hyundai Creta emerged as the best-selling car in India in July 2024. This Korean-styled SUV has gained significant popularity and sold 17,350 units in July 2024. Thanks to this strong sales performance, the YoY sales for Hyundai Creta increased by 23 per cent. In terms of numbers, Hyundai managed to sell just 14,062 units in July 2023.
Another notable Korean car in India is the Kia Seltos. Hyundai and Kia, being partners, produce these cars similarly to cut production costs. However, looking at numbers, Kia Seltos YoY sales dipped by more than 45 per cent and now stands at just 5,347 units in July 2024.

Both the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos feature sleek designs in their latest versions. The new Hyundai Creta has a more appealing look, contributing to its rising sales. Although both cars share the same platform, the Kia Seltos is longer and wider than the Creta. However, the wheelbase for both models is identical at 2610 mm.
The 2024 Hyundai Creta offers three engine choices: two petrol and one diesel. The 1.5-litre MPI petrol engine delivers up to 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine produces up to 157 bhp and 253 Nm of torque. Similarly, the Kia Seltos comes with three engine options: two petrol and one diesel, mirroring the Creta's offerings. Performance-wise, there is no difference between the two models. The Seltos also provides gearbox choices like a 6-speed manual, IVT, 6-speed manual iMT, 7-speed DCT, and a 6-speed automatic.

Advanced Technology Features
This year’s Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos have been equipped with additional technological features. They also offer smartphone connectivity, panoramic sunroof, six airbags, electronic stability control, ventilated seats, interior ambient lighting, premium audio system, and a 360-degree camera.
However, only the Seltos X-Line variant includes a head-up display. These features make both models highly competitive in terms of technology.
