Hyundai Partners With Children's Hospital LA For Child Safety Initiative

Hyundai Motor America recently held a child passenger and pedestrian safety event at its headquarters in Fountain Valley, California, in collaboration with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). This event is part of their ongoing partnership aimed at preventing unintentional child injuries and fatalities from motor vehicle crashes and pedestrian accidents.

During the event, certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPST) provided parents and caregivers with guidance on the correct installation and use of car seats. They also checked for expiration dates, manufacturer recalls, and proper fit. Families needing new car seats received replacements to ensure maximum safety for their children.

The event also featured LA Street Smarts, a life-size replica of a small neighborhood complete with active traffic signals and interactive components. This setup helped teach elementary school-aged children about pedestrian safety techniques and the dangers associated with walking or playing near streets.

"Our continued partnership with CHLA is an important element in creating a culture of safety at Hyundai and for our customers," said Cole Stutz, chief safety officer, Hyundai Motor America. "We are proud to offer this program to the local community and Hyundai families, especially at our Fountain Valley headquarters. Providing education and resources to families is an important part of our commitment to ensuring the safety of children whether they are as vehicle occupants or pedestrians."
