Hyundai Canada Recognized As One Of Canada's Best Workplaces For Mental Wellness 2024

Hyundai Canada has been recognised as one of the Best Workplaces™ in Canada for seven consecutive years. In 2024, it also earned accolades for having one of the Most Trusted Executive Teams and, for the fifth year in a row, was named one of the Best Workplaces™ for Women. This recognition coincides with Hyundai Canada's new mental health initiative.

MARKHAM, ONT. (May 28, 2024) — Hyundai Auto Canada (HAC) has been named one of Canada’s Best Workplaces™ for Mental Wellness by Great Place to Work® for the fourth consecutive year. This honour was determined using the Great Place to Work® Mental Wellness Index score, with over 85 per cent of team members agreeing that the workplace is psychologically and emotionally healthy.

HAC revises its benefits packages annually to ensure team members have access to the most up-to-date tools and services. The latest initiative is a mental health support program called Bloom, developed in partnership with Gray Matter Health. This pilot project offers on-site therapy sessions at the head office, making it the first of its kind in the Canadian automotive industry.

Education and Awareness

Mental health and well-being have long been focal points within HAC. The organisation prioritises increasing awareness and education around invisible disabilities and mental wellness across all levels. Regular in-person Subject Matter Expert (SME) sessions, mandatory training for new hires, and partnerships with several organisations ensure up-to-date practices are in place.

The Fun-Dai committee organises community-related activities to foster networking and strong employee relationships. Weekly office yoga sessions during lunch hour are also part of these efforts.
