Hyundai Canada Achieves 22% Increase In October Sales Driven By IONIQ 5 Demand

Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. experienced a significant boost in October sales, reaching 11,694 units, marking a 22% increase compared to the previous year. The TUCSON and KONA models maintained their positions as the top-selling vehicles, with sales of 2,363 and 2,294 units respectively. The IONIQ 5 achieved remarkable success by selling 1,933 units, surpassing its past records and overtaking the ELANTRA as the third best-seller.

The company's electrified vehicle lineup saw impressive sales figures in October. A total of 4,346 electrified units were sold, with most models experiencing double-digit growth compared to last year. This category includes electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Notably, the IONIQ 5's sales surged by an astounding 242.7%, reflecting a growing consumer interest in electric vehicles.

Hyundai Canada Reports Strong October Sales

Steve Flamand, executive director of national sales and digital strategy at Hyundai Auto Canada, expressed enthusiasm about this trend. "We’re thrilled to see Canadians’ continued desire for EVs reflected in the IONIQ 5’s incredible sales month after month," he said. "For it to unseat one of our best-selling legacy models within our top three models is a true testament to Hyundai’s dedication to the EV revolution."

Year-to-date figures also show positive trends for Hyundai Auto Canada. The company reported total sales of 110,084 units so far this year, which is a 13.1% increase from the same period last year when they sold 97,302 units. This growth highlights Hyundai's strong market presence and consumer demand for its diverse range of vehicles.
