Electrified Models Propel Hyundai Canada To Strong April Sales
In a remarkable performance for April 2024, Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. has announced a significant surge in sales, marking its strongest month since June 2021. Hyundai's commitment to electrification is evident in its April sales report, with nearly 30 per cent of its total sales volume coming from its electrified fleet. This includes pure electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid models. The TUCSON HEV led the electrified lineup with strong sales figures, underscoring the growing consumer interest in sustainable and efficient transportation options.

The detailed sales data reveals significant growth across several models. The KONA saw an astounding 152.0 per cent increase compared to the previous year, while the IONIQ 5's sales skyrocketed by 194.0 per cent, marking its best sales month in Canada. Despite some models experiencing declines, the overall sales momentum for Hyundai in Canada remains robust.
April's data also highlights a positive trend in the adoption of electrified vehicles. The KONA EV and TUCSON PHEV saw substantial increases in sales, indicating a strong market demand for electric vehicles (EVs). However, not all models enjoyed growth; the SANTA FE HEV and ELANTRA HEV saw significant decreases in sales volumes.
