Hyundai Canada Sees August Sales Boost With IONIQ 5 Leading Electrified Fleet
Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. announced that it sold 10,697 units in August, marking a 3.2% increase compared to the same month last year. The TUCSON, KONA, and ELANTRA models remained the top sellers with 2,171, 1,960, and 1,804 units sold respectively.
The IONIQ 5 had an impressive performance with sales of 1,156 units in August, nearly tripling its figures from last year. This represents a year-over-year increase of 197.2%. Hyundai's electrified vehicles, including electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid models, accounted for 32.7% of total sales in August with 3,499 units sold.

Other electrified models also showed strong growth. The KONA ELECTRIC saw a significant rise with 808 units sold, while the newly redesigned SANTA FE HEV posted sales of 490 units. Both models experienced over a 50% increase compared to last year.
From January to August this year, Hyundai's total sales reached 88,006 units, reflecting a notable increase of 15.9% compared to the same period in the previous year. The TUCSON model alone contributed significantly with year-to-date sales of 19,482 units.
The KONA model also performed well with a year-to-date increase of 58%, selling a total of 22,273 units so far this year. However, some models like the ELANTRA and VENUE saw declines in their year-to-date sales figures.

Top Models Continue to Lead
The TUCSON remains Hyundai's best-selling model with an increase of 7.4% in August sales compared to last year. The SANTA FE also showed strong growth with a remarkable rise of 61% in its monthly sales figures.
However, not all models experienced growth; the KONA saw a decline of 22.2%, and the VENUE dropped by 26.6% in their respective monthly sales comparisons.
